South Molton Struggle 2012

On a cool damp morning 129 runners embarked on 7.8 miles of multi terrain running for the 4th South Molton Struggle.  The conditions proved to be pretty decent for running despite being very muddy and slippery in places, who doesn't like a bit of mud though.  The course record was smashed by the winner Tom Adams who had travelled all the way from Ilkley, running in a time of 42 minutes 47 seconds.  The first lady was Caroline Hewitt from Tiverton Harriers completing the course in 53 minutes 56 seconds.  There were a number of clubs in the running for the team prize but a strong performance from the home team, the South Molton Strugglers, saw them pick up the prize.  Congratulations to all the runners and a big thanks to some of the best marshalls in the business, all our wonderful sponsors and the rugby club for allowing us to use their facilities.  Thanks too to our race officials Mel Gooding for timing and John Drennan our adjudicator who stepped in at short notice.
