London Marathon 2013

Three strugglers headed to London Town this year to take part in what is viewed as the greatest marathon in the world. Phil Pennington had experienced the london crowds before but for Chris Murrin and Lucy Goodman - our two club captains, it was their first time at this prestigious event.

Weather conditions proved perfect for the runners and once the task of crossing the start line was complete (it can take up to 20 minutes) it was plain sailing for all three. Lucy Goodman continued in her exceptional form and in only her second marathon she achieved an amazing time of 3.27.40 - qualifying automatically for next years race. Chris Murrin had also completed a marathon previously but this time achieved a fantastic PB of 3.39.47. The london veteran Phil Pennington finished was delighted in his finish time of 4.11.08 - a fantastic time after limited training.

Well done to all the marathon runners and role on next year!
