Haytor Heller
10km of dartmoor hell - followed by fantastic night of camping and a few bevvies to celebrate!
The Haytor Heller, one of the strugglers favourite events took place on Saturday 21stJuly and with it a fantastic turnout of club members. Seventeen strugglers made the journey to Dartmoor to take part in an extremely scenic but equally challenging 10k. The route takes in both Haytor and Hound Tor between which your find some steep descents and even steeper ascents! Jack Batchelor was 1st struggler home in 4th place, followed 3 minutes later by Nigel Woodgates. Simon, on his first outing on the course enjoyed every minute of the run despite having to fight off the challenge of club mate Chris Simpson in the first couple miles. Derek Page secured 2nd vet 55 in a great time of 55.11 and Daisy was 6th female to cross the line! Amanda ran a great race, securing a win over club mate Emma showing a healthy bit of club rivalry. Huge well done too to Ruth, her first race for some time and almost..... enjoying it!
