Target zero - how about Target 1 second!
The inaugural target zero beach run on Saturday 30th July saw 12 strugglers take on the tough 3.5mile course. With predicted times completed the run began with a hard climb, firstly up a sand dune and then followed by steps and steep coast path. The route followed the coast path between woolacombe and putsborough and then joined the beach to head back the same route.
The first across the line was Jack but as this was all about the closest person to their predicted time, there was nothing to say he had won! Until of course all the runners had crossed the line and the time keepers confirmed there was one runner within one second of their prediction. That runner was Jack - with an estimated time of 22.38 and an actual finish time of 22.39! Others fell between 1 and 4 minutes within their prediction but no-one came as close.
A dip in the sea followed by a bbq proved to be the perfect conclusion to a great evening! Next year there will be more! Well done to all those that took part!
