July 2011 Haytor Heller .......and it was!

Haytor Heller does exactly what the name suggests..... puts you through Hell on Haytor. Despite this, the 12 strugglers that took part will definetly be signing up for next year - not only for the run but the post race celebrations with live music, bbq and bonfire!

The route takes runners over two tors - Haytor and Hound Tor, a river crossing, steep decents and ever steeper ascents all over the rugged granite terrain. One of the toughest 10ks undertaken by the strugglers but equally one of the most scenic and thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Jack finished 10th overall in a time of 44.55 and 2nd in his age category. It was an evening of struggler battles with 7 seconds seperating Nik and Chris. An even closer fought race between Richard and John was won by Richard by 3 seconds!  Kiara and Julie ran neck and neck all the way but Kiara was able to edge a 30 second gap in another Struggler tussle and the final one was won by Sue as she managed to hold Amanda to a 9 second advantage!

Well done to everyone who took part - a fantastic evening had by all. Definetly one for the diary next year!
